Mode of Action
Propiconazole is a member of the DMI-fungicides group (demethylation inhibitors) These materials act on the fungal pathogen inside the plant at the stage of first haustoria formation and stop disease development by interfering with sterol biosynthesis in fungal cell membranes. Propiconazole is rapidly absorbed by the assimilating parts of the plant, mostly within one hour of treatment. It is transported acropetally (upwards) in the xylem. This systemic translocation contributes to good distribution of the active ingredient within the plant tissue. Propiconazole has protective, curative and eradicant activity, although best results will be achieved when Banner MAXX is applied when the disease is still in the early stages of development. It is recommended that application begins when conditions are favourable for disease infection and at the very beginning of disease symptom expression.
Mode of Action: Sterol biosynthesis inhibitor
Class of Chemistry
Banner MAXX is a water-based, non-petroleum, liquid formulation containing 156 g/L propiconazole. It is virtually odour-free, disperses well and it will not clog filters once mixed in the spray tank.
FRAC Group: 3
Uses
Turf Safety:
Banner Maxx is for use on Golf Course Turfgrass. When used as recommended, Banner MAXX is well tolerated by all common turfgrass species.

Application Information
Use Rates:
26 - 206 mL/100 m2
Water Volume:
Apply in sufficient water to ensure thorough coverage (3 to 15 L per 100 m2).
For control of soil-borne diseases, apply Banner MAXX in higher spray volumes (13 - 21 litres of water per 100 m2). If this is not possible, then Banner MAXX can be watered in after application (0.60 cm of water prior to drying of the spray application).
Application Information:
Dollar Spot:
Application Interval/ Duration of Control: 21-28 days
Apply Banner MAXX during periods of humid, warm days and cool nights that result in heavy dew formation. Nitrogen deficiency and drought stress also promote the disease. 1) Banner MAXX can be tank-mixed (see mixing instructions) with Daconil Ultrex or Heritage MAXX or 2) Rotated with fungicides which have a different mode of action Do not apply more than 6 applications per season.
Anthracnose:
Application Interval/ Duration of Control: 21 days
Apply Banner MAXX during periods of humid, warm days and cool nights that result in heavy dew formation. Nitrogen deficiency and drought stress also promote the disease. 1) Banner MAXX can be tank-mixed (see mixing instructions) with Daconil Ultrex or Heritage MAXX or 2) Rotated with fungicides which have a different mode of action Do not apply more than 6 applications per season.
- For optimum turf quality and disease control, use Banner MAXX in conjunction with turf management practices that promote good plant health and optimum disease control.
- Before use of any fungicide, proper diagnosis of the organism causing the disease is important to determine the best control measures.
- Use Banner MAXX in a preventative disease control program.
- Under conditions optimum for high disease pressure, use the higher rate and the shorter interval.
- When treating greens, always treat aprons and and fairway approaches.
Rainfastness: For control of foliar diseases, allow sprayed area to completely dry before irrigation.
Mowing: Apply after mowing OR allow sprayed area to completely dry before mowing.
Mixing Order:
- Fill half of the required water volume in the spray tank, and begin agitation
- Follow the www.WALES mixing sequence for all tank mixes
- Add the required amount of Banner Maxx Fungicide to the tank and allow time for the product to disperse
- Finish filling the tank to the desired volume to obtain the proper spray concentration. Maintain agitation throughout the spraying operation
Use Restrictions:
- Do not apply more than 473 mL of Banner MAXX/100 m2/year.
- Do not apply this product through any type of irrigation system.
- Prevent spray drift on to surrounding areas.
- Keep people off treated area until foliage is dry.
- Do not graze livestock on treated areas. Do not feed clippings from treated areas to livestock or poultry.
- Delay resistance by avoiding application of consecutive sprays of Banner MAXX or other fungicides in the same group in a season.
